Global One Wins Best Carrier 1999 Award

CWI User Poll Gives High Scores In Most Important Service Criteria

GENEVA, 11 October, 1999 - Global One, has won the Best Carrier 1999 award presented by CommunicationsWeek International magazine.

As part of CommunicationsWeek International's annual Winning Carriers survey, enterprise readers were asked to rank the carriers they used according to several measures. These criteria were: carrier reach, reliability, flexibility, quality of service, range of services, technical depth, pricing, customer service and innovation.

Readers were invited to assess how well their own carriers performed in each of these areas. The aggregate ranking of the criteria was then used to weight the scoring. Thus, the issues users felt were most important were appropriately factored into the total scores.

The high scoring of Global One in the most important issues - particularly quality of service and reliability - helped it to clear first place position. The two other shortlisted finalists were BT and France Telecom.

In announcing the winners, Emap Media group said: "Global One's loyal and enthusiastic user community has pushed it decisively to the top of this year's Winning Carriers poll.

"The company was formed primarily to provide managed services for multinationals, in competition with other carrier alliances unlike the other alliances, however, Global One not only remains intact but is also investing in extending its network and attracting new customers."

Michel Huet, chairman of the executive committee of Global One, said: "We are delighted at this public vote of confidence by our many satisfied customers worldwide. This is a tremendous recognition of our dedicated, customer-focused staff, our unmatched global reach, diverse product portfolio and industry-leading customer care program."
